The overall goals are as follows:

• To establish acceptable levels of skill in the essential areas of clinical psychology assessment, treatment, consulting, and clinical research.

• To give a beginning concentration in a specific field of clinical/counseling psychology.

• To promote clinical/counseling psychologists in training's entire professional development. 

• Gain advanced clinical skills by combining theory, research, and practice.

• Prepare interns for rendering services in the areas of individual and group psychotherapy, assessments under the supervision

• Develop an ability to integrate supervisory feedback into clinical interventions

• Acquire abilities needed for working professionally with individuals from various cultures

• Be part of one-on-one therapy sessions
